I’ve been online, in the name of research you understand (no Townsend), and I feel the need to share. Call it therapy…
My eyes are watering a bit after chancing upon “another birds you can’t help fancying thread” on a website called fuk.co.uk, which is all about fashion, believe it or not. I would hate to be in the public eye if it meant Googling myself and seeing my name, or photo, appear in something like this. No doubt I could uncover far worse, but I have to say that the three hours I spent browsing this thread (I know, but it was FASCINATING) has taught me more about the male psyche than 20-odd years consorting with the bastards. Google it. Nothing good will come of it, but it’s quite a read.

From the bright neon and glitter flick, as worn by Lily Allen to Amy Winehouse’s big brash beatnik or Dita Von Teese’s glam screen goddess flick, this idea to accentuate the eyes takes many forms. It also takes alot of practice and the right tools to get it right.
I like to use MAC Fluidline or their glitter eyeliner or Chanel’s Intense Liquid Eyeliner (all of which are fab) with an angled eyebrow brush or a pointed lip brush.
How to do it:
1 It is easiest to do this at a table, with elbows on the table to steady hands. Look into a mirror that is either on a stand (like a shaving mirror) or one that is lying flat on the table. This angle also helps check the flicks are even.
2 Put a finger at the side of your eye and pull skin taut.
3 With one smooth stroke of the brush, draw a line along your upper lid as close to your lashes as possible - from the inner corner of your eye for a retro look or two thirds along your eye for a more natural look.
4 If you can’t do it in one, stop the line at the outer corner of your eye and then add that extra flick which goes beyond - patch any gaps.
5 You also need to check your face from the side to make sure the flicks look good from all angles.
My favourite heirhead Paris Hilton is now officially in jail but in true Hollywood Princess mode she won’t let that stop her being pampered and spoiled.
Ms Hilton has requested that professionals from her favourite tanning salon in Hollywood be allowed to visit her in prison so that she can top up her tan while she is there!
Sunset Tan owner Devin Haman is trying to arrange at least one professional visit during Hilton’s 23-day vacation prison stint - so the heiress can top up her tan. Haman says, “We’re trying to arrange a tanning appointment while she’s in there.”
You gotta love her, can’t wait to hear what she’ll demand next!
Don’t say we never give you anything…our gorgeous friends the Dynamite Hosts have gone off to Ibiza for the entire summer! Lucky them - unlucky us. They are staying in a gorgeous villa while they work the sizzling party scene and get up to their usual mischief.

Michael and I were doing hair and make-up for the debut single Gold Dust by up and coming London band Devil’s Gun. The brief for this music vid, shot in a damp dark cellar in Camden, was that the lovely Dominque (lead vocals) had a split personality. Fot the first look evil Dom had crazy back combed hair and dark smoldering eyes. I created this using Barry M 23 all over the eyes and MAC’s Carbon eyeshadow blended in to the eyelashes and heavy eyebrows. For the lips I used foundation with eight hour cream.
For the second look, Dom was soft and beautiful but still maintaining a rock chick edge. Michael cut a sharp bob on a sleek black wig and I brightened up the make up by washing MAC’s Beautiful Iris eyeshadow all over the eye and underneath then blending Barry M’s powders on lid. I applied Laura Mercier mineral eyepowder on outer corners and finished with lashings of MAC fluid line eyeliner and high shine las vagas lipglass by MAC on the lips.
Great, just what we need - more Kate Moss clones running around London in their done to death faded skinny jeans, ribbed vests and waistcoats….Yep the Kate Moss for Topshop collection hit stores this morning and thousands of wannabes queued for hours and fought over cheap clobber just so that they too could look as tired and washed out as Kate.
Come on girls get a grip, Kate Moss has been wearing this “rock n’ roll chic meets bohemian charm” for years. You would think that after seeing how widely imitated this look had become she might at least try and come up with something more original. Tomorrow the headlines will read; “Shoppers create mass hysteria over studded leather belts, vintage inspired tea dresses and gladiator sandals”…..how dull.
While most people spend their Sundays laying in bed recovering from Saturday night’s bender or having lovely afternoon picnics in the park, spare a thought for us poor souls that had to get up at the crack of dawn to spend the day dressing a bunch of semi-clad male models…..oh it’s such a hard knock life!

While Lily Allen’s army of teenybopping fans may not have appreciated the charming sounds of up and coming L.A. band The Bird and the Bee, anyone who was at her Hammersmith Apollo gig on Monday night and born before 1985 was probably delighted by their performance as her support act.
I loved Inara George’s beautiful vocals and quirky style, even the twee backing singers rocked it for me especially when they started doing their little robot dance!
Their debut single “F*cking Boyfriend” is out on Monday.
